Broomstick Skirts

The Broomstick skirt is three tiered, and has a beautiful and slimming look. The tiers gradually increase in width. Hence, the top tier has the least fabric, and the lowest tier is the widest which gives the skirt a slimming effect. The style fits most women. The skirt is easy to care for; practical and one size fits all. Cool in the summer and equally suitable for the winter. A traditional skirt that has been worn for generations and today, more than ever, liked and worn by women in many countries. The Broom Stick Skirt is very popular in the United States.

All our skirts are made in natural fibres; linen, cotton, bamboo, rayon and mixtures of the same. We make a limited amount of skirts of each pattern (and fabric) and the skirts are all made in a small workshop in Ystad. (Sweden)

Washing instructions

THE BROOMSTICK SKIRT is three tiered and has a glorious width. The weight is in the lower tier which makes the skirt “slimming”. The skirt is easy to care for, practical and one size fits all. Cool in the Summer and just as suitable for Winter days. The “broomstickskirt” is in itself a traditional style. It has been worn for generations. Today, more than ever, liked and worn by women in many countries.

Washing Instructions: Machine wash in cold water. Do not put it in the dryer. Shake out the skirt thoroughly and roll it together in the waist in a zig-zag fashion. Tie a slipknot around the zig-zagged waist and hang it on a hook or hinge. Now roll down a stocking over the skirt. Stop a few inches from the bottom. Then pull the hem of the skirt to form pleats. Finish pulling the stocking over the hem. Allow to dry 24 – 36 hours.

The matching tie can be used for your hair, hat or as a bowtie. It can also be used as a wrap for the skirt when you travel.
